With its upcoming exhibition Beauté Congo 1926-2015 Congo Kitoko, the Fondation Cartier pour l’Art Contemporain will celebrate the art of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. From 11 July to 15 November, Jean Nouvel’s buidling will take you on a journey through the colors of Africain painting, still quite underrated in western countries.

The 2014 auction proceeds for artworks by Albert Lubaki, the best performing Congolese artist at auctions, after Chéri Samba. His works, which mainly date back to the 1920’s and are particularly sough-after by Belgian and French collectors, only made their debut on the secondary market in 2013.
